The Lagos State University Muslim Community (LASUMUC) is nonprofit but a muslim religious body established upon the commencement of the Lagos State University in Year 1984. Membership of our Community comprises Muslim Staff, Students and individuals on the campuses of the Lagos State University admitted as members of the Ummah.
The basis of our Association is always on the principles of Islam as laid down in the Holy Qur’an and the Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W). Our Community is a united and harmonious indivisible community under Almighty Allah dedicated to the promotion of the pillars of Islam, welfare of all members, peaceful co-existence and general advancement of true Islam as a religion with emphasis on Taohid, Equality, Brotherhood, Justice, among other important aspects of Islam.
Our Community advances the course/protects the interest of Islam within and outside the University Community, supports the Muslims students under the auspices of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (LASU Branch) and propagates Islam as a religion in all its ramifications.
The Community shall have as its aims and objectives:
a) The promotion of Islamic doctrines and principles among its members.
b) The promotion of unity among its members.
c) The protection of the interest of Islam within and outside the University community.
d) The propagation of Islam as a religion in all its ramifications.
e) Seeing to the welfare of members of the community
f) Supporting the activities of the Muslim Students' Society of Nigeria, LASU Branch.
